Brent J. Smolik

Brent Smolik joined Encino Acquisition Partners’ board of directors in 2024. He brings more than 35 years of global experience in oil and gas exploration and production, midstream and oilfield services, spanning most major producing basins from western Canada to Texas.

Mr. Smolik held senior executive leadership roles at EP Energy Corp., El Paso Corp., ConocoPhillips Co. and Burlington Resources Inc. These included president, CEO and chairman of the board of EP Energy Corp. and EP Energy LLC, executive vice president of El Paso Corp.,president of the El Paso Exploration & Production Co. and president of ConocoPhillips Canada and Burlington Resources Canada. Most recently, he served on the board of directors of Marathon Oil, until its merger with ConocoPhillips.

Mr. Smolik holds a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University. Hebegan his career with ARCO Oil and Gas in 1984.
